Reading and Writing in December

Students have been reading lots of non-fiction books and writing informational texts. They have been doing a great job at making connections between both subjects.

In writing, students have been writing informational texts about things they are "experts" on. I have read about pets, wrestling, math, art, and many other things. We will be turning these into chapter books after winter break.

In reading, we have been learning more about main ideas and supporting details. We are learning how to think deeper about what we are reading.
